NEWS

We are delighted to announce that Sally Magnusson, journalist and broadcaster, will be starting the cycle for us this year at Lock 27, Anniesland.  Sally’s father, Magnus Magnusson, sadly died of pancreatic cancer in January 2007.

Sally followed her father’s career in journalism and broadcasting, but Magnus will be best known for hosting Mastermind from 1972-1997.

We are also delighted that Maggie Blanks, founder of Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, will be coming up from England to support us at the start of the race this year. Maggie founded the national charity in 2004 after the death of her husband from the disease in 2003.

The cyclists that take part in this cycle in memory of my brother, Robin Wilkie, are hearing more and more about people being struck down with pancreatic cancer.  We hope that Sally Magnusson’s presence this year will help us raise even more funds, with over £11,000 having been raised by us over the last three years.
